POLYWOOD Lumber Colorfastness
Does the color in POLYWOOD run all the way through the lumber?
Yes, the color you see on the surface of genuine POLYWOOD lumber runs throughout the material—it's not a veneer.
Will the color of the lumber fade in the sun?
Before our high-density polyethylene plastic and other sustainable materials are pelletized and extruded into lumber, we blend in light-stable pigments with UV inhibitors and stabilizers. This results in fade-resistant colors that look as good as new, even after years of sun, rain, and use.
NOTE: Prolonged sun exposure can cause fading in any material. To ensure long-lasting color for your furniture, we recommend storing your items when you’re not using them or protecting them with durable covers.
Although POLYWOOD doesn't sell furniture covers directly, you can purchase covers from retailers such as Coverstore. To find the cover that fits your furniture best, you only need the product’s dimensions.
