Do you offer custom bench plaques or engraving services?
Currently, POLYWOOD does not offer custom plaques or engraving services.
Can I add a plaque to my bench?
Yes. Customers are welcome to attach plaques or engravings to POLYWOOD benches to create personalized gifts, memorials, or commemorative pieces. If you choose to add a plaque or engrave your furniture, keep in mind that the warranty will be voided for the specific part you modify. However, the rest of the furniture components will still be fully covered.
Installation Guidelines for Plaques

Fasteners: Use wood screws between 1/4 and 1/2 inches long. Always consider the thickness of both the lumber and the plaque.

Avoid edges: To prevent cracks, place screws at least 1/4 inch away from the edges of Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber.

Metal tubing caution: Some bench designs include metal tubes in the top rails. Please check carefully before you drill.

Average Bench Headboard Dimensions
To help customers choose plaque sizes, we’ve gathered measurements from a variety of POLYWOOD bench collections. While each style differs, most bench top rails accommodate plaques within the following ranges:
- Width: 9–11 inches of flat/centered space available
- Height: 2.5–3.5 inches of usable vertical area
- Clearance: For models with cutout handles in the top rails, such as our Nautical benches, allow 2.5–3 inches of space between them and plaques
