Can POLYWOOD furniture be used in a pool or on a tanning ledge?
POLYWOOD’s Laguna Collection is designed for in-pool use on tanning ledges or Baja shelves. The chaise lounges and accent pieces are made from marine-grade resin, which resists water, chlorine, salt, and UV rays.

Our other collections can be used in swimming pools, but we recommend doing so only for short periods. If you place your furniture on your tanning ledge, we advise removing it from salt water or chemically treated water as soon as you’re done using it and rinsing both the lumber and hardware with fresh water right away. This helps maintain the furniture's integrity and longevity.
FAQs:
Q: Is POLYWOOD lumber waterproof?
A: Yes, Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), an extremely durable and waterproof plastic.
Q: Does POLYWOOD furniture float?
A: HDPE and marine-grade resin are less dense than water, so they float. To keep the furniture in our Laguna Collection from floating, we added weight. This helps it stay in place on shallow pool ledges and similar areas where the water is no more than nine inches deep. However, if the water is deeper, it might float.
We do not recommend using POLYWOOD furniture as flotation devices in swimming pools or other bodies of water. Doing so could cause injuries or damage the furniture.
