White Glove Delivery
White Glove Delivery and professional installation are highly recommended. If you add this premium service to your pergola order, expect a two-step delivery and installation process:
Step 1: Initial delivery. Your pergola is placed in the location of your choosing, but NOT assembled. You must schedule a separate appointment for assembly and installation with our white-glove delivery partner.
Step 2: Assembly and installation. Our white-glove delivery partner will arrive on the scheduled day and time and install your new pergola. Prepare the site for pergola installation. If it’s not ready, your pergola will not be installed, and you will have to reschedule your appointment.
How to Prepare a Site for Pergola Installation
- Secure any required permits and permissions.
- Ensure the area is flat and level.
- Remove any furniture, plants, decor, and other obstacles.
- Mark the exact location of the pergola with tape or chalk.
- Have a solid base ready, e.g., concrete, pavers, pylons, or footings.
- Ensure the space is accessible for our white-glove delivery partner.

FAQs
Q: Do POLYWOOD pergolas need to be anchored?
A: Yes. Anchoring your pergola in place keeps the structure from shifting in strong winds, heavy rain or snow, and fluctuating temperatures.
Q: Do I need a permit to build a pergola?
A: Permanent structures may require a building permit. As the purchaser and/or installer of this product, you are advised to consult local planning, zoning, and building inspection departments for guidance on applicable building codes and/or zoning requirements.
Q: Are POLYWOOD pergolas customizable?
A: No, our pergolas are sold as described on the product pages.
Q: Do POLYWOOD pergolas come in different colors?
A: We currently offer our pergolas in POLYWOOD Select™ Natural. More color options will be available in the future.
Q: Can I hang a swing on a POLYWOOD pergola?
A: Yes! Swings must be hung exclusively from the leg joists, which have a 400-pound weight limit per mounting hook. This covers the weight capacity of most porch swings, the pergola’s own weight, and the weight of users.
Q: Can POLYWOOD pergolas be left outside year-round?
A: Absolutely! Our pergolas are built with the same durable HDPE lumber used to craft our furniture, and can withstand a variety of intense weather conditions.
Q: How do I clean a POLYWOOD pergola?
A: Like all of our products, POLYWOOD pergolas clean easily with soap and water. See our Care & Maintenance page for full cleaning instructions.
Q: Can I pressure wash a POLYWOOD pergola?
A: Yes! We recommend using a pressure washer rated no higher than 1,500 psi equipped with a 40-degree fan tip.
Q: Will adding accessories void the pergola’s warranty?
A: Accessories with a maximum weight of 30 pounds can be installed on the crossbeams using standard decking hardware at least 1/2" away from any lumber edge. Meeting these requirements will not void the lumber component warranty.
